The Times presented the June 2019 winners of the Readers’ Choice “Excellence in Customer Service Awards” monthly distinction for local business employees across Blythe — as nominated and named by voters through the month of June.
Sponsored by the Blythe branch of Provident Bank (350 E. Hobsonway), the month’s winners are:
Josie Porter of Weeks Printing
“Josie always goes above and beyond her job description to help customers. She’s always willing to lend a hand to figure out a tough situation and has endless patience.”
Tamarray Watkins of Popeyes Chicken
“(Tamarray) was very busy and handled multiple customers at once with ease! She was friendly, efficient, and did an incredible job with each customer!”
Ryan Hiser of the Palo Verde Irrigation District (PVID)
“I was interested about a chain crossing the road and the young man told me all about it. It was so unique and such a surprise. (I’ve) never seen them drag it in the canals before. Very respectful young man.”
Tammy Hulsey of ACE Hardware/Inland Builders Supply
“Tammy provides excellent service — she is personable, efficient, and is very knowledgeable about products sold at the store. She is always very helpful and willing to go out of her way to help customers.”
Cody DeWitt of ABC Grooming
“She is always in a good mood; goes out of her way to get your pets in and out to make sure your pets look good.”
Dylan Dobbs of Ashley’s Homestore
“I have a friend who has extreme health conditions that lives in Quartzsite and his wife got a chair from Ashley’s that will help lift him up. (Dylan) scheduled for his people to have the chair delivered, and at no cost…Just felt like he went over and beyond and was very caring and thoughtful.”
Ana Nunez of Verizon
“I would like to give Ana at Verizon a Customer Service Award. I had a new phone, not (from) Verizon and asked her if she could transfer all my phone numbers to the new phone. And she graciously did so, even though the new phone that I received as a gift, was not Verizon. (…) What a Godsend she is.”
Mark Fulmer of Palo Verde Irrigation District (PVID)
“Mr. Fulmer is always professional; he called me about some leaking gates I had for my alfalfa field and explained everything to me, step by step, of what he did.”
Sally Vasquez of Bandy’s Pharmacy
“Exceptional customer service!”
Comments from some of the nominating voters — Make sure to include your thoughts with each nomination! Voting runs through each month, with a set deadline of the last day therein, no later than 5 p.m.
Locals can submit votes — with name of the business, name of the respective employee, and reason for the nomination — via email, with a subject line reading “Customer Service Awards” to:
customerservice@pvvt.com.
Or, locals can nominate via our website online form (located at the right side of the page — careful with ad blockers, may not pop up) at: pvvt.com.
The Times’ decision to introduce the monthly distinctions is due in-part to the positive community response to this year’s 2019 Reader’s Choice Best of Blythe Awards.
The spirit of the monthly distinctions hopes to encompass the pride of Blythe, and aims to serve as a “thank you” to our business employees who share that same hometown sentiment. Congratulations to all of June 2019’s winners!
